Meet Our Pediatric Dentists

Thomas E. Resnick, D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. Tom Resnick received his undergraduate and DDS degrees from the University of Illinois.   After serving two years as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corp,  Dr. Resnick returned to the University of Illinois where he earned a Certificate and a Master of Science Degree in Pediatric Dentistry.  Professional organizations include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Illinois Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois Pediatric Dental Society where he served as a board member.  Dr. Resnick is currently on the staff of Evanston, Glenbrook, and Highland Park Hospitals and is Emeritus at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He holds the rank of Senior Lecturer at University of Chicago Medical School and he teaches in the General Practice Residency Program at Evanston Hospital. He has been a speaker at local and national dental meetings. Dr. Resnick is a contributing author for the medical textbook, Pediatrics, second edition.   He is also a consultant for American Dental Examiners. Dr Resnick was named the top pediatric dentist in the Chicago area in Chicago magazine’s only survey in November 2009 and has been named a “Top Doc” from 2008 – 2013.  In Chicago Consumers’ Checkbook, 2013  he was again listed as the pediatric dentist most often referred to by other dentists.    Dr. Resnick and his wife, Barbara, have two sons, two grandsons, and two granddaughters. He enjoys biking, traveling and playing golf in his free time. He is interested in all sports and balances the Chicago baseball interest in the office by being a life long White Sox fan.

Paul T. Egger, D.D.S.

Dr. Paul Egger was born in the Chicagoland area and grew up in nearby Milan, Il.  He attended the University of Iowa for undergraduate as well as dental school.  After receiving his DDS degree,  Dr Egger completed a general practice residency at St. Barnabas hospital in the Bronx, NY.   Dr Egger then followed up that training by completing the pediatric program at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr Egger joined our practice in 2004. Dr Egger is currently on staff at Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, and Highland Park. He is on staff with the University of Chicago where he teaches the residents at Evanston hospital.

Dr Egger and his wife, Jaclyn, enjoy traveling and almost all outdoor activities where they can include their dog Ozzie. They are avid sports fans and love to cheer on their favorite Chicago teams (not the White Sox).

Dr. Egger’s memberships include The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry,  American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.

Fredric S. Tatel, D.D.S.

Dr Tatel grew up in Chicago and attended Chicago Public Schools.  He received his undergraduate degree in fine arts and a Masters in General Studies degree at Northwestern University in Evanston.  After obtaining his dental degree, also from Northwestern, he decided he wanted to earn a specialty license in dentistry for children.  He became an intern at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for one year and then did a year of postgraduate study in pediatric dentistry at Marquette University in Milwaukee.  Over the years, he has also acquired twelve hours towards a Masters in English at Northwestern and twenty three hours toward a Masters in Musicology at the Chicago Musical College at Roosevelt University.

Dr Tatel is a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  He holds the rank of Senior Lecturer at Northwestern University Medical School and he teaches in the General Practice Residency Program at Evanston Hospital.  He consults for the surgical staff of Ingalls Hospital.  He also holds membership in all of the local and national dental and pediatric dental societies as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Orthodontic Society.  He reviews articles for the Journal of the American Dental Association and has authored articles for the Journal of Pediatric Dentistry.

Fatima Pimentel, D.M.D.

photo-2Dr. Fatima Pimentel grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of San Diego. She then received her dental degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. Dr. Pimentel continued her education by completing a pediatric dentistry training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center serving as chief resident her second year.

She is a self-proclaimed “foodie” and loves trying out different restaurants. She is a huge sports fan especially football, basketball, and baseball. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking, traveling, and doing art projects. She recently moved to Chicago and is excited to explore the city.

Dr. Pimentel is a candidate for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Chicago Dental Society.
